Understand the Main Branch

Every organisation has exactly one active Main Branch. ChurchHub creates it during onboarding. It provides a stable default context and cannot be archived while it is Main.

Add a branch

Open Settings → Branches and choose Add branch.

  1. 1Enter a clear branch or campus name.
  2. 2Confirm address, phone, email and timezone.
  3. 3Save the branch.
  4. 4Assign branch-scoped administrators only after the branch exists.
Access required

settings.manage and plan capacity are checked by the server.

Change the Main Branch

Open the target branch's actions and choose Make Main Branch. ChurchHub demotes the old Main Branch and promotes the new one in the same transaction, so the organisation is never left without a primary branch.

Organisation scope versus branch scope

An organisation-scoped membership can work across permitted branches. A branch-scoped membership is confined to one branch and organisation-wide records allowed by its role. Permission names do not override that boundary.

Choose an active branch

Use the account switcher before opening operational pages. ChurchHub remembers the choice on the device but validates it against the branches returned by the server. If the stored branch is no longer eligible, the Main Branch is selected.

Deactivate a branch

Move ongoing responsibilities and review branch-scoped users before deactivation. A Main Branch must first be replaced. Historical branch attribution remains so old records do not become organisation-wide by accident.

Repair or report a missing Main Branch

The account bootstrap repairs older organisations that have branches but no Main designation. If branch setup still looks inconsistent, stop making branch changes and contact support with the organisation and affected branch names.
